We are telling the details of the "harassment" incident between Çelik, his model girlfriend Buket Saygı and Kadir İnanır
It was the beginning of the 2000s… Kadir İnanır , the legendary name of Turkish cinema, was preparing to appear in front of the camera for a new television project. At that time, the young and beautiful model Buket Saygı, who was in the rising phase of her career, was going to star in the same project with İnanır. Everything looked very professional from the outside… until that message.

The paths of Yeşilçam's leading man Kadir İnanır and the popular model of the period, Buket Saygı, crossed on the set of the series "Derman Bey"... However, this encounter neither turned into a romantic story nor ended with the series finale. On the contrary, this meeting was engraved in the history of Turkish magazine as a scandalous case.

This claim was not only reflected in the tabloid headlines but also in the courtrooms. Saygı argued that İnanır had interfered in her private life by saying that they needed to “become close as part of their role.”
The statement from Kadir İnanır was clear:
"These messages were sent to him to improve his acting. My purpose was simply to provide motivation."
Although Kadir İnanır said, 'I was motivating Buket from my pocket', the tone and content of these 'motivational' messages were very different from Saygı's narration. So much so that the chain of events took İnanır to court.

In his testimony at the hearing, İnanır’s bodyguard Burhan Kocataş said that he sent some of the messages from his own phone. However, the court sentenced İnanır to pay 150 thousand YTL in compensation to Buket Saygı and to 5 months in prison. The sentence was later commuted to a fine, but the concept of “Kadirism” had already entered the literature.

Çelik appeared before the media and attacked İnanır with very harsh words. Çelik, who said that he would not remain silent about his girlfriend being subjected to such a situation, used the following expressions in an interview at the time:
“‘Does a person’s big name make him harass my girlfriend, brother? Do we give girls to people? I called Kadir İnanır on the phone. I said, ‘Brother, I know all the messages you’ve received. What is this? Isn’t it shameful? Is it appropriate? You approach a woman, if she responds to you, take her away. You don’t respond. What is this?’ But neither my mother, nor my deceased father, nor my family are left. He swore at all of them. I wouldn’t let my father swear either. No one can harm my honor or my girlfriend’s honor. It’s the same even if it’s Kadir İnanır. Crime is crime, evil is evil, dishonor is dishonor.’’

One of the most talked about moments of the case was the fashion show photos of Buket Saygı that Kadir İnanır 's lawyer presented to the court. The lawyer showed these photos and said, "Saygı is wearing clothes that are not appropriate for the Turkish family structure" and defended himself. This approach especially drew the reaction of Buket Saygı's model friends. They supported their friends by saying, "We are showing off the clothes, not ourselves."

İnanır’s lawyer also claimed that the incident had turned into a promotional opportunity for Saygı: “After the harassment allegations, Saygı’s modeling business opened up. She is trying to make a profit by using my client’s name.”

The statement that came from Çelik years later was as follows:
'We don't talk about the events that have ended, but I have to say this because of social responsibility! Kadir İnanır is someone who harassed a woman, was convicted of this common crime, and received a prison sentence. His prison sentence was commuted to a fine on the condition that he would not do it again. I did what was necessary with the responsibility I took, I made sure he wouldn't do it again, I prevented others from being harmed! I don't care if society supports this or not, I would do the same thing 100 times over.'
